That's:
25% F, 75% M playing the game. A female character has a 33% chance of being a real female. |

I am male and play a male char.
the reasoning behind males playing female characters because you don't want to look at a man's ass all day has always baffled me. If you can't resist staring at a man's ass when there's plenty of other graphics to look at.... I am more practical in my reasoning and do as other forum members mentioned, play male char because it is just an extension of my male self. females can make male characters however because female chars get hit on all day and that's gotta get annoying. |

The only advice I can give you is "no regrets." Any halfway decent writer can fool you if that's all you have to go by. Last edited by nechronius; May 24, 2005 at 11:51 PM // 23:51.. |

I've played enough male toons and female toons to honestly say i don't really care which i play, and that it doesn't affect my gameplay in any noticeable way. I find the reasons why guy have an aversion to playing a female toons far more interesting. some common reasons that creep to the surface are... homophobia sexual insecurity real life sexual inferiority complexes I can also understand why small, weak guys would have an aversion to playing a small, weak toons, but i don't have that problem either. |

I also don't buy the excuse that someone 'would rather stare at a female's ass all day'...just because your playing a male character doesn't mean you have to sexualize him, and focus on his ass.
When I play a male character I connect with it in a completely differant way than when I play a female. When it's a male, it's more like 'Damn, I look frickin' badass in this armor, where's something I can smash?'. When it's a female it's more like 'Damn she looks frickin' hot in that armor, where's something she can smash?'. Here's a quote, of a quote, from IAN on Machall.com that pretty much sums it up: "I always remember how Chun-Li players had this kind of 'that's my girl' feeling when using her. And I still notice that today with any fighting game out there. If you play a female character and beat ass with her, that's your baby. She helps you win." And here's a link to the place I got it in case your interested (Machall is funny as hell anyway, so you should check it out): http://www.machall.com/?strip_id=233 |

I'm female and three of my chars are male and one female. Why? Because I find the male versions far more cosmetically pleasing on the eye. My muscled and tanned male warrior is much more handsome than a lanky female warrior ever could be.

im a male and i play female char with a r/l friend of mine (she is female ) honestly because when i first got the game i clicked create and the char was female.. so i was like ok.... and kinda stuck with it (plus i love mini rangers ninja power!) but because she plays with me i tend to "overlook" if anyone calls me names hinting that i am a woman, but honestly if people get offended by finding out that female chars are male, when you first meet them say hey, are you a guy or a girl, 90% of the time that stops the idiot flurting men do while playing female avatars to get freebies etc. this is the only game however that i do play female characters. and like people have said when im on my TH in lin2 (male char) im like OMG who's da bada$$ now

I'm a male and have two of each.
Mesmer Female (primary) - total babe Warrior Female - looks adorable wading into combat against all those massive brutes Necro Male - looks like a ghoul because of the hunched over model Elemenatalist Male - didn't care for the female models For me its pure appearance. The females for the most part are drop-dead gorgeous. The males <snore> are mostly generic aside from Necros. |

It's actually a funny state of affairs if you look at it. Males use female characters mainly to get free items from pre-pubescent 10 yr olds, and females use male characters so that pre-pubescent 10 yr olds don't constantly hit on them.
of course this is not everybdoy, but it always makes me laugh to think about it. |
